Our final destination at the Camping Apollo in Băile Felix after a long drive through Slovakia and Hungary

Băile Felix

Roman Orthodox Church

Maramuresh style church

Nice restaurants on top of the river

Town park with 2 interesting churches

And the thermal baths at Apollo and Baile Felix. They are just across the road from our camping ground

These beautiful huge flowers grow in the pond only here. They look so awesome and artificial, but they are real!

So much happening in this park in the evening

Apollo thermal bath station at night. Thousands of white reclining chairs

Oradea

Lunch at this place

Continuing our way to Transylvania!

Wednesday 15.08.2018: Ustrzyki Górne (PL) - Slovakia - Hungary - Băile Felix (RO) (alt 110 m): 417 km - 27ºC mostly cloudy.

A long drive today through Slovakia and Hungary to reach Romania with a stop at Restaurant "Lebuj" in Tokaj, Hugary (8340 Forint ± 26 EUR, Julia didn't like the fish soup but Volker's main dish was delicious). We left Ustrzyki Górne at 8:45 am and arrived at 19:30 +1 (EECT) in Băile Felix (Felixbad in German). We had chosen a Camping ground called Strand Cu Valuri, but it was closed. So we drove to the Apollo Camping ground (70 Lei or 16 € with electricity) which is located conveniently across the Apollo Therme. Today is a national holiday, and every place in Băile Felix was crowded. N46º59'46" E21º58'50"

Thursday 16.08.2018: Băile Felix: 31ºC cloudy/sunny hot

A stroll through the touristic town of Băile Felix. Then we went to the thermal baths of Apollo (30 Lei per person). The water is so warm, about 40ºC! Lunch with Mici (grilled rolls of spiced minced pork meat servied with a sauce kind of mustard mixed with mayonnaise) and beer (6 RON). After a break in our A/C camper, we took off to the centre, visiting the special water flowers growing in 3 ponds in the park, then having lunch at the Restaurant Româneăsca (138 RON, very nice waiter).
